Ferry coming in, Oban Bay
Home | More information

Dalmally offers a golf course (9 holes) to which everyone is welcome. There is a local train station which offers access to the West of Scotland, Oban, Fort William and Glasgow; why not leave the car and hop on a train for the day? If you like fishing then there are great local lochs to fish on (Lochawe stores sell fishing passes) or if it's walking/hillwalking then Ben Cruachan is within viewing distance and easy to get to. Go and visit the Hollow mountain 6 miles down the road - here a water power station sits deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan.

The West of Sotland is a beautiful scenic part of Scotland with great heritage. Visit Inveraray which is only 15 miles away. It is a quaint little town which offers the Inveraray Jail tourist attraction. Here you can travel back in time to see how the prisoners were treated and sit in the court chamber and listen to the crimes committed and their outcome. The beautiful Inveraray Castle is also in walking distance of Inveraray town - this is where the Duke of Argyll still resides. If it's the Western Isles you wish to visit, then go to Oban where you can catch the Caledonian MacBrayne ferries which will take you across to Mull and Iona. Fort William is also a good place to visit. It is a 60 mile drive which gives you the opportunity to drive through Glencoe with majestic views of the Three Sisters (mountains), and when you get to Fort William you can take the gondola (cable car) up Aonach Mor, which is the mountain adjacent to Ben Nevis.

Local amenities include a shop, chemist, post office, police station and medical centre.
